Emergency Measures Agreement Extension

Michael Matheson MSP, Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, said: „After important discussions with Abellio ScotRail and Serco Caledonian Sleeper, we have made these other emergency arrangements to cover operating costs due to a sharp reduction in revenue. Given the extremely difficult budgetary situation and the current uncertainty about the consequences of the UK government, the agreements will enter into force until January 2021. This will ensure the continuation of rail transportation and provide stability for employees, passengers and suppliers in a time of unprecedented uncertainty. March has been announced and will continue until March 2023, with a possible one-year extension. „With the previous extension of the TEC, these agreements strengthen our balance sheet position and offer our rail business a potential way to go into time on a new contractual basis, with a more appropriate balance between risk and return for all parties. . . .
