Cn Union Agreement

Following the ratification vote that took place across Canada, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, the majority of CNTL members did not ratify their preliminary agreement. The union will speak before the end of the week to representatives of the CNTL and CN Labour Relations to review the dates of the continuation of the talks and allay the concerns of members, as they have raised issues during the ratification process. More than 2,250 members working at CN across Canada as members of the National Council 4000 voted to ratify new collective agreements. „Previously, Ottawa routinely violated the right of rail workers to strike. But this government has remained calm and focused on helping the parties reach an agreement and it has worked,“ Laporte said. Unifor National Council 4000 represents nearly 3300 rail workers across Canada, including workers at CNTL, Intermodal and CN Savage Alberta Railway. Negotiations are underway on five new collective agreements. The Committee remains committed to negotiating the best possible deal and works hard to ensure you benefits. MONTREAL, Jan. 31, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Conveyors, shipyard workers and flight attendants employed by the Canadian National Way (CN) voted 91.3% in favor of ratifying a new three-year collective agreement. The more than 3,000 employees are represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC). Their Council 4000 bargaining team met with CN from February 4 to 8 and February 25 to March 1 in Montreal to negotiate a new collective agreement.

Current contracts expire on March 31, 2019. At this point, we have other dates for the continuation of negotiations from the 25th Scheduled in Montreal on March 1, 2019. „Previous governments have routinely violated workers` right to strike when it comes to the rail industry,“ Teamsters Canada President François Laporte said in the statement. „This government remained calm and focused on helping the parties reach an agreement, and it worked.“ In order to continue to deter the company from breaching the remaining provisions of the collective agreement, workers receive additional compensation under the new agreement if they are forced to work 30 and 60 minutes after rest, including train attendants and railway stations. The Unifor-CN Savage Alberta Railway (CNSAR) Bargaining Committee is continuing negotiations with CN this week at Unifor`s regional office in Edmonton from March 11 to 15, 2019. The negotiations were productive. One of the points on which the Committee focused was the improvement of working conditions on the emergency edges, ensuring that rest days were not interrupted and that replacement operations did not replace regular train operations. We also want our collective agreement to be numbered like the others at CN.

By Teamsters Canada – Montreal, November 16, 2019 – In the absence of progress at the bargaining table, the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) announced last night the intention to strike at Canadian National Railway (CN). . . .
